Super Bowl Sunday is this weekend!
Does your family have a game day tradition? For us, we just gather as many folks as we can, hang out at the house, eat, and of course watch the game.
Now, as part of a great game day experience, good food is a MUST. With a house full of guys and gals, we try to offer a variety of easy dishes that every one enjoys. There's no need to resort to frozen pizzas when homemade cooking can be just as easy. Fleischmann’s Yeast helps provide simple and savory recipes for an unforgettable Big Game gathering.
One of the recipes Fleischmann's Yeast recipes I found super easy, that my entire family scarfed down is the Bacon, Herb & Cheese Snack Bread. I chose this recipe for my family because it looked easy, I already had all the ingredients, and we love good bread. Plus, who can resist the smell in the kitchen when a made from scratch bread is baking?
Here's the recipe-
I wanted to give this recipe a trial run this past weekend, just to make sure it would be a game day hit, and it turns out, it is! We dipped our bread in a marinara sauce, and oh, it's delish!
While it's always bit messy in the kitchen when I cook from-scratch (flour is everywhere, it's just how I roll), I just can't not enjoy it. I love knowing exactly what is going into my recipes. When I was a teenager, I thought that baking breads or anything from scratch was an old-fashioned way of doing things. Why take twice as long to do it that way when I could just buy pre-made or heat up something frozen? But once I became a mom, I realized how important it is to know exactly what and how our food is made. Not to say I never cook a pre-made meal or frozen pizza, because I do. But, when the opportunity arises when I can use ingredients like flour, eggs, yeast, etc, I like to do it that way. And you have to admit, kneading the dough is a little like playing with play-doh for grown ups.
The folks at Fleischmann's Yeast also know how important it is to us that we use only the best ingredients for our from-scratch cooking. Fleischmann's yeast is known for quality and reliability and for giving at-home bakers confidence in their from-scratch recipes since 1868 (over 140 years ago!). So, be sure to head over and check out their website, Bread World, for even more great Game Day goodness and tons of recipes your family is sure to love.
Who is your family going to be rooting for this year? For us, it's the 49ers all the way!

We do not have a football tradition. But I am mesmerized to watch this frenzy the whole country is going through! It's fascinating!
I love to watch the game, but not glued to the TV, though. It's fun. It's our culture!
Let's celebrate!
You had me at bacon! That sounds delicious. We aren't sports people, but no matter who you are it's amazing how the super bowl brings people together!
Oh...that looks yummy!!!
