I can’t hardly believe it, but we’re heading into our final weekend of Summer Vacation, back to school is bright and early Monday morning for my kiddos. You might remember a few weeks ago, I mentioned in this post that I would be doing a lot of the kids wardrobe shopping at Kohl’s this year.
Shop I did, and was certainly pleased that Kohl’s became quite the one-stop shop that I expected it to be. With a $100 gift card and an extra $20 I had stored up in Kohl’s Cash® coupons, I was able to grab items for each of my boys, and all of it was on sale or clearance! Talk about a score!
For my teen headed to 8th grade, he needed some jeans and shorts. If you have a kid like mine, who is tall and skinny, then you understand that finding a good fit, one that’s long enough in the legs, and slim enough in the waist can be tricky. However, we had no problem finding a great fit for him in the teen (young mens) section at Kohl’s. I found him two pairs of jeans, and three pairs of shorts- all on sale.
I also found two pairs for my tween son, who’s in between sizes right now. Not quite a teen but not quite a good fit in the little boys section either. We went with a young mens 30×30, and they fit great as well.
Now, for the littler guys, they didn’t need any new pants or shorts, but both needed a few new shirts to start the school year off right. These two can practically share tops, so the five new shirts I found for them in the clearance section were great. They were short sleeved, which is great for Florida, and super cool. My favorite was the patriotic peace sign shirt, but my sons was the fruit ninja shirt.
One of my favorite parts of shopping at Kohl’s is when they tell you at the end of ringing up your purchase, how much you saved that day, between using Kohl’s Cash® coupons, sales, and clearance. Often, I find that I saved even more than I spent, which makes both me and my bank account happy. For this purchase, I saved over $170, way more than I spent!
While my kids may not be super excited about actually going back to school yet, they are happy with their new digs their awesome mom got them from shopping smart this year at Kohl’s.
In the meantime, for the next few days, we’ll enjoy the remainder of summer!
