It’s fun to look back on a day, week, or a month and remember the special moments. It’s been a while since I’ve blogged about it, but I would like to try again this year. Call it a resolution or whatever, but each month I’d like to chronicle our month past, and I encourage you to do the same.
It’s interesting to look back through my Instagram thread and iPhotos to see what I’ve captured in pics.
Here are a few of my personal highlights.
Spending New Years with family in Nashville
The return of Downton Abbey to US television
It’s back, I love it, enough said
Discovering Frisbee golf
If you’re like me, then maybe you haven’t heard of it. If you have, then consider this a virtual fist pump, because you’re awesome.
We just discovered it this month, and have now made it an after church Sunday routine. One of the universities here has an awesome course that I’m really bad at, but it’s fun, so we go.
Celebrating Caleb’s 12th birthday
Oh how time flies by. You hear that when you’re a kid, and you realize it when you’re an adult. It seems like yesterday my boy was born, and all of a sudden he’s only a year away from being a teenager!
We celebrated with family on his actual birthday, and then hit up a local go-kart, lazer tag, and game arcade over the weekend.
Cleaning Wax from Candle Jars– the post that went viral
And to think I almost didn’t even write this one. I thought it would be boring, but apparently a lot of folks want to know how to get wax out of jars. Therefore, it’s become one of my most popular posts so far. Who knew?
Dave’s ministry trips to Australia, Texas, and Nashville
We didn’t go with him on these, but he loves to send photos when he can. I love hearing the ministry stories mixed in with the day to day life.
This time he returned with a few sweet gifts from my Aussie friends, including an antique flour sifter from one of my favorite junk markets down under.
To round out our month, we spent it covered in ice, with our little Florida kids getting three whole snow days!
What did your January look like? If you’ve written about it, send me a shout or leave me a comment, I’d love to know!
