This past weekend we had beautiful weather here in the Florida panhandle. So, like any good treasure hunter, I took advantage of that, packed the kids in the car, and went in search of untold wonders of the yard sale variety.
For the first hour, we happened upon sales with a few tables of junk (not the good kind) and tons of boxes full of clothes we were expected to dig through. And tons of baby items. I don’t know why, but if you were in search of baby stuff, this weekend was the time to find it.
We were all getting hot and frustrated until we happened upon a sign in our historic district of town that looked promising. When we pulled up, I knew two things immediately… this would be a fantastic sale, and also it would not be boasting cheap yard sale prices. I was correct on both accounts, but while we were there, my daughter and I couldn’t help but snap photos of the prettiest yard sale I’ve ever been to.
The set up was in the backyard of a historic cottage home. I felt like I was in a pickers paradise. They had everything an antique or junk collector (the good kind) would love. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.
I didn’t come away empty handed. Throughout my day I did happen upon a few treasures. I shopped smart, and only spent a little over $30 in total. And, because what good blogger-treasure-hunter-wannabe wouldn’t snap a pic of her finds?
How about you? Do you treasure hunt? What are some of your best finds?
