“Hey Mom, we’re home, can we have a snack?”
That’s often the first phrase I hear when my kids get home from school. They all eat lunch so early that by the time they’re home, they’re hungry.
So as a parent, of course I want to give them a little something that’s easy but healthy that won’t ruin their dinner appetites. Sometimes that’s a banana, crackers, or applesauce, but recently they’ve found a new favorite- Jif To Go Dippers. The kids like them because, well, they taste good! And I like them because they’re perfectly portioned, convenient, and they’re packaged in either pretzels and creamy peanut butter or pretzels and chocolate silk (my favorite).
Like many parents with kids on the go, our afternoons are busy, busy, busy. This time of year we rarely have an evening that something isn’t going on, so a lot of our time is spent as Mom’s Taxi Service to and from the great variety of activities our family is involved in.
I don’t like stopping for fast food when we’re out and about, so taking snacks is a must. Jif To Go Dippers are small and easily transportable, which makes life a bit easier for me.
My teenage daughter has an after school job, so sometimes she literally runs in the house, changed into her work uniform, and has to leave. I know she needs to eat a bite, so a few times I’ve tossed her a package to eat on the way. We have the same situation with my middle schooler. He gets home around 4:45 and has to leave in an hour to make it to football practice in time. He doesn’t like to eat anything heavy before that, so he almost always grabs a Jif to Go cup and a water bottle on his way out the door.
As a rule of thumb, here are a few more fun times that Jif to Go Dippers make the perfect snack to take with you…
