I want to take you behind the scenes a little, to let you get an idea of the talented artist behind this beautiful product.
I asked Melinda of My 2 lil Pixies to answer a few questions about herself. I always love knowing what inspires an artist or a business owner. I feel like I get to know them, and in doing so, I have a better understanding of the passion behind their amazing work.

A little about me…
My name is Melinda.
I am a stay at mom of 3 kids, ages 9, 4 and 2. I am so the typical soccer mom. I love to spend time with my husband and kids. I am the My 2 lil Pixies shop owner and create all my items myself. I love creating new bows, clips, headbands, flowers and love finding new things to make to add to my shop.
I actually started making baby headbands for my baby cousin at the age of 10. I loved creating new bows and headbands for her. I loved seeing how cute she looked wearing them. After having my second daughter, I was tired of seeing the same old headbands everywhere and wanted something cuter and versatile. That’s when I decided to make my interchangeable nylon headbands (you can change any bows and clips with these). These headbands were my favorite for my daughter, so soft and stretchy, and they never left any marks ON her head. I decided since I was so happy with these myself, I would try to sell on eBay to other mommies. I sold on ebay for over four years, and continue to sell there. I have also decided to try Etsy. I sell many items in my shop to boutiques all over the country, and I even have boutiques I sell to in Australia and Canada.
What inspires me to create?
My girls! I love to see how happy they are when they have my hair accessories that I have made in their hair. My 4 year old smiles ear to ear. I love to get positive feedback from new mommies thanking me for their purchases they have made from My 2 lil Pixies. Overall, I love to see people smile.
How I get the word out?
I have people who have purchased from my shop tell their friends, and their friends do the same. Its like a ripple effect. I also put a business card in each order that is sent out.
My new love is...
I love doing giveaways on blogs.. Sounds funny, but I love when people win something, and I am happy to have that opportunity to do just that. I thank you, the bloggers that review my shop and share with your readers about my shop.
What is the my favorite item I have ever made
I think it is what I am working on now. I am making the cutest little damask ruffle bloomers that I know the photographers are going to love. My favorite headband that I love the most… I can’t choose because I love them all. Ha ha!
Where I see myself in business in three years?
I see myself still working with Etsy. Continuing to design new items, maybe opening a web site of my own. Continuing to make my customers happy by offering high end boutique items for the fraction of the price.. I have many more items I want to bring to the My 2 lil Pixies shop and I hope I am able to do that.
