School is in full swing and along with that, so are the Fall sports. For us, that’s baseball and football for my big boys, and lots of playing around in the sand around the bleachers for the little guys during the games and practices. I have come to realize that the bigger the kid, the bigger the mess. Muddy cleats, grass stained clothing, grubby sweaty uniforms. Well, you get the picture- a minivan full of dirty, stinky, smelly boys at least five days a week.
That also means lots of driving time to and from school, and afterwards to all the extra after school activities. On some of our busiest days, a quick snack or even dinner on the go in the car is just where it’s at. So far this school year, my most memorable “sticky situation” I’ve found myself in was actually this past weekend at my sons football game. My husband was out of town and my teen daughter was hanging at the beach with some friends, so it was just the boys and I at the game. It’s still warm here, so the little guys wanted snow cones. I should’ve known that snow cones and seats at the very top of the bleachers only equal spills and drips as we climb. No sooner had we taken our seats than I found not one but two giant spoonfuls of sticky, sugary, cold snow cone in my lap and on the seat next to me. Yep. Fun times. Luckily, I thought ahead and put a few packets of the travel wipes in my pocket, so the day was saved.
