This is the fourth book I’ve read by Karen Witemeyer, and I’ve loved each and every one. Stealing the Preacher is the second in the Archer Brothers series, the first being Short-Straw Bride, although it does very well as a stand alone. I always like seeing some of my past favorite characters like Travis Archer make their way into another book.
The hero in this story, Crockett Archer is quite a unique character, and he quickly became my favorite in this story. He is compassionate, but not a push-over by any means. He is a hard worker, yet gentle, and he does his best to let the light and love of Christ been seen in everything he does.
There were parts of Stealing the Preacher that made me tear up, just recognizing the love of Jesus being shown to one of the most stubborn characters, Silas Robbins.
I hope Mrs. Witemeyer continues with more stories about the Archer brothers. They’re true heroes of the wild west, and I’m anxiously looking forward to more!
