Moms, you know that as each new season rolls around, one of the things we have to consider is how much our kids have grown since last year. When purchasing new clothes to replace the ones they’ve outgrown, we’ve got to find pieces that are affordable, and yet trendy and comfortable so that they’ll wear them. Sound about right? I’m not going to lie, I LOVE shopping for kids clothes. There’s just something about finding a perfect shirt with their favorite character, and the big smile on their face when they see it. Even better when I can find them at a great price. Warm weather clothes are some of my very favorite. I guess it’s because spring clothes are usually bright and colorful. This year while shopping for deals, I found that the spring and summer line at my local Dollar General (shop apparel online) hits all my marks. Affordable, colorful, and trendy!
After a serious closet and dresser purge to jump start my spring cleaning, I realized that my two youngest have outgrown many of their warm weather clothes they loved last summer. That means it’s time to restock. Some of my boys current interests are anything WWE and superheroes. To top that off, my boys really only like to wear pants without buttons a zippers (yes, that mean elastic waists), so that’s an extra fun challenge.
On my shopping adventure to Dollar General, I was really surprised at the prices! For just under $50 I was able to get my boys four pairs of shorts (all elastic waist), and four different shirts! I made sure to get colors that will mix and match well too. The best find of the day was a WWE shirt and shorts combo (only $15) with John Cena on it. When Isaac, my kindergartener got home, I wish I had my video camera on when I showed it to him. You would have thought it was Christmas again. I knew he’d like it, but his reaction was pretty classic.
Another favorite find was for Joshua, my first grader. For him, I got a three piece Batman combo. For only 12.50 it came with shorts, shirt, and tank top. Of course, little brother says Joshua can’t wear them all at the same time, and was quick to claim one of the shirts as his own.
With the selection of spring pieces available at Dollar General, I was able to pick items that will also work well with pieces they already have. So, for around $25 per boy, I was able to greatly add to their spring and summer clothes. What a deal!
