I haven’t purchased a new piece of furniture for my home in a very long time. Why? Because I usually keep myself on a strict budget and of course being a DIYer I like to “just see what I can come up with”. However, my front room has been in need of a serious makeover for years, so when I had the opportunity to choose and purchase a brand new piece of furniture from Sauder I was so excited! I knew I wouldn’t have to adjust, paint, fix, or do anything to my new furniture, simply choose it, order it, assemble it, and enjoy it.
Although I do like to be thrifty, I also know that when purchasing a new piece of furniture, I don’t want to skimp on style but, I do still want to be budget conscious. Thankfully, the Sauder experience is just right for my goals.

Because it’s been a while since I really thought about my “design style”, I took full advantage of the Sauder Style Lab online. It offers some really fun tools that helped me figure out what I would like without being overwhelmed by the huge selection choices.
My favorite tool is the Find your Furniture Style Quiz. You walk through a serious of questions, and in the end Sauder suggests your design style and recommends which collection you may enjoy.
And I must say, they really hit the nail on the head because my results and the definition of the Transitional style that I like are exactly me.
That being said, for my front room space I chose a piece from a different line, but one that still suits our home style well. The antique white Corner TV Credenza is exactly what we needed to house our TV, wii, games, and other what-nots.
Once my order was placed the box arrived quickly, and boy was it heavy. I had to get help to lay it out and open it in order to assemble it. Yeah, it’s a great quality piece but it arrives in a lot of pieces. Fortunately, the instructions are simple and easy to understand. You just need patience and time to put it together, and maybe an extra hand or two to help if you want the job to go faster.
One helpful tip I can offer after assembly is to put any extra screws and nails, a copy of your receipt, and your instruction manual in a large ziplock bag, and tape it to the back of the piece where it won’t be seen. This way you’ll always know where these things are if you ever need them for reference.
I knew when choosing my piece that the way my room is shaped, there’s no other space to even put our TV other than in the corner. So, I knew I needed a special piece of furniture in just the right color and size. The TV credenza I picked out is perfect and rest assured, this piece is solid.
The drawers are already housing our video games, remotes, and chargers, but I’m looking forward to styling the bookshelves in different ways for the seasons. Won’t some Christmas decor just look fabulous on those corner shelves?
