Elf on the Shelf 2014 Ideas- Updated Throughout the Holiday Season

Our Elf, Ringo Bells, has come back to play this year. You may remember from the past few years Elf posts that my family doesn’t really do the elf the traditional way. My kids can play with him if they want, and he’s not “watching them”. Not that I have a problem with that, I think it’s a fun way to do the elf. But for us, this is just the way that works best for our family. I hide him at night, in a fun and creative way and the kids enjoy finding him the next morning.

 So that being said, check back here frequently this season for some fun ideas. I can’t promise I’ll update daily on the blog, but I will for sure update the elf’s adventures daily on Instagram.
Sometimes I think of them at midnight when I realize I forgot to hide the elf, some require more planning.
Either way, I hope you enjoy and are inspired!

We’re at a point of needing a little reminder in our house about thankfulness and kindness this Christmas (translation: too much bickering & complaining among the kids), so today Ringo Bells had a Mission Impossible style envelope full of random acts of kindness for them to do.

Spider-Man made the teenager a nice sticky spiderweb across her door from packing tape, to find when she woke up. A few of the other family members may have accidentally walked into it too.

The last day. 

 

The true meaning of the season is to celebrate the birth of Jesus. That’s why we’ll read the story of the first Christmas to the kids today, so we can all remember together and celebrate the miracle of the birth of Christ.
