Let’s be honest, life doesn’t always go according to plan. Sometimes life happens exactly the opposite of what you had ever imagined.
The past six years have brought some major personal changes. I’ve gone through the kind of situations that force you to stop, reevaluate everything, and figure out what really matters. It’s been a journey of rediscovery, resilience, and rebuilding—not just of spaces, but of myself. I bet so many of you can relate.
In the middle of the chaos, and in the continuing work of healing, I kept circling back to one thing that always brought me joy- being creative.
Whether I was restoring an old piece of furniture, browsing flea markets & thrift stores, or repurposing a thrifted find to make my home feel like a happy place again, these small acts reminded me of who I am. Now, as part of my journey, I’m leaning fully into that joy and turning it into something I can share with others again.
Why?
There’s something empowering about taking control of both your life & your space and making it your own. Being creative in your home isn’t just about saving money or following a trend. It’s about seeing potential where others might not, breathing life into forgotten things, and making a space that reflects you & your story.
My goal is to help you do just that, while I’m doing the same thing . I hope this blog will be a creative outlet. From beginner-friendly tutorials to more advanced makeovers, you’ll find projects, inspiration, and practical advice to help you make your home feel like you.
What to Expect from This New Chapter

- Encouragement for Makers – Because creativity isn’t just about crafting—it’s about giving yourself permission to try, to learn, and to grow.

Coming Back to My Passion
Before life got complicated, I opened a small vintage and home furnishings boutique here in Franklin, Tennessee- The Blue Cardinal (you can read all about it here). I loved showing others how to see the beauty in the history of what already exists, how to use old and new items to make their place special.
I’ve since closed that brick & mortar location, and it broke my heart to do it. But life happens, right? I’ve missed the spark that comes from helping someone realize how they can make their homes a happy place. Now, I’m ready to return to that passion.
This blog isn’t just a website. It’s a way to reconnect with the maker in me—and to connect with you, the creative soul looking for inspiration and a fresh start. If you’re here because you’re curious, eager to learn, or just looking for something to help you feel more at home in your own skin (and space), then you’re in the right place.
Let’s Do This, Together
Starting over is hard—but it can also be beautiful.
Whether you’re picking up a paintbrush for the first time or learning how to start again in life, I hope you’ll find something here that inspires you.
So here’s to fresh starts, fun thrifted treasures, and the power of creativity to transform not just our homes, but our lives.
Welcome back. Let’s make something beautiful.
