Over the Christmas break, I had the privilege of reading a pre-release copy of the book The Money Saving Mom®’s Budget by Crystal Paine. Crystal runs the show at MoneySavingMom.com and this book is nothing less than amazing!
When I read these types of books, I like to highlight bits and pieces of the best parts, but I had to stop doing that in this book because I was highlighting everything! There are so many “Ah-Ha!” moments, great ideas, and me saying “Wow, why didn’t I ever think of that before?” that I couldn’t put the book down. I read it quickly, in only about two days.
In my favorite part, Crystal teaches how to make a time budget. It was like a light bulb came on in my mind. I’ve always considered myself fairly organized, but so often at the end of the day I would be frustrated that I didn’t get everything done that I needed to do, even after working myself to the bone all day. I had never thought of it before, but we really do only have 24 hours in a day, and I was trying to cram 36 hours worth of work into it. No wonder I would be stressed at the end of my day. This book made it clear and simple how to manage my time more wisely. I’ve been following her ideas since December, and I am amazed at the results.
I’ve read money saving type books before, but none quite like The Money Saving Mom®’s Budget. This book hits on everything from making a time budget, saving, spending, and giving. Whether you’re a mom, wife, single person, married, just trying to make ends meet, college student, soon to be married, well established household, or everything in between and you want to make your money work for you, then this book is for you!
