About the book Secrets Over Sweet Tea-
Secrets can be funny things. We think they keep us safe, but more often

My Thoughts-
By now, if you’ve been a reader of my blog for any length of time, you should know of my love for all things Nashville, and of course that includes the gorgeous areas around it as well, especially Franklin, Tennessee.
When I heard that the book Secrets Over Sweet Tea by Denise Hildreth Jones is set right smack in the middle of one of my favorite cities, I knew I had to read it. I enjoyed being able to see in my minds eye exactly where the book was taking place.
In Secrets Over Sweet Tea we read of three very different marriages, all in various stages of brokenness and healing. Interestingly, each characters life intersects with the others in some way, to weave a story of heartbreak, forgiveness, redemption, and ultimately reclaiming of the heart with God’s grace.
The characters are charming and witty, and you find yourself rooting for them in their various stages of life. They will pull you in emotionally, as you grow attached to each an every one. As I read this book, there were times I honestly laughed out loud, other times I actually cried (which happens very rarely when I read, even if it’s a great book), and even other times when I wanted to reach in and just yell at a character “get it together for heavens sake”!
My personal favorite character is the pastors wife Scarlett Jo, a bright, cheery, eclectic, and boarder-line-annoying-but-you-can’t-live-without-her woman. To me, she held the book together, even in the end when she had to reclaim her own heart again as well.
This author has written Secrets Over Sweet Tea as well as a non-fiction companion book called, appropriately, Reclaiming Your Heart from her own life experience. If you have walked through a divorce, or even if you have not, this story is sure to capture your heart, emotions, and attention. After reading it, although I have not personally experienced the heartbreak of divorce, it has inspired me to prayed that the Lord would help me to reclaim my heart in certain areas of my own life, and I feel that we could all do that in some way or another.
