Here’s a quick decorating tip for you when your amazingly awesome high def, super expensive TV seems to fall a bit short an awesomeness once it’s mounted to the wall- frame it!
Why compromise the integrity of your beautiful home with a stark black box on the wall? My teenage daughter got a TV for Christmas, and once we hung it, it looked pretty tiny and silly on her wall.
As a solution, we decided to find a frame to make it, well, for lack of better words, simply look better. We did drop the cords behind the wall and pull them out through this electric box thingy. Sorry, no technical description here, because I don’t know what it’s called.
Anyway, lacking the carpentry skills it would take to make a frame, we found a gorgeous antique frame that had been painted out, that by a miracle fit exactly right over her TV.
We anchored a screw into the wall, and that was it!
What do you think? Much better, I say.
While I’m sure this idea isn’t very original, people have probably been framing their TV’s since wall mounted televisions became popular, I thought I’d share my bit of creative inspiration anyway. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t know how to build a frame (I don’t either). Just know your dimensions, and be on the lookout for a frame at thrift shops, yards sales, and even antique shops.

Great idea! I've been looking for a way to kind of "hide" the tv in our bedroom. Found you through Craftionary's Party.
