You upload your favorite image, and Kindle Kreative prints it onto thickly coated aluminum panels.

My dad dabbled a bit in photography when he was in his 20’s, mostly abstracts, and some of his photos are gorgeous and unique. For one of my Christmas gifts to him this year, I scanned in one of his favorites, and uploaded to a 5×7 panel. Although the original image was square, I cropped it to size before uploading. I didn’t see an option to crop available on Kindle Kreative, so I made sure I did it myself before uploading. A 5×7 metal panel currently runs around $24.
One thing that I wish Kindle Kreative would improve would be to add the option to preview your order before you place it. Comments can be added to give the company an idea of how you might want it cropped. Then, they will send an artwork proof that needs to be approved prior to printing. At that point you will be able to let the company know how you’d like it to be adjusted. Because I had previously cropped mine to size, I approved mine on the first try.
I absolutely love my final product. The photo is glossy and feels very strong. Although it’s metal, it’s not too heavy. The panel is shipped with a stand to attach to the back, but also with the option to hang it. My dad is going to love this custom and unique gift for Christmas this year!
