Wouldn’t it be nice if, at the end of Christmas day we had a little help winding up the aftermath of the day? As much as we try not to be overwhelmed by the day, well, let’s just admit that sometimes it happens. 
In the unique Christmas book that kids and parents alike will love, ‘Twas the Late Night of Christmas, written by Ann Whitford Paul and illustrated by Nancy Hayashi, quite the helper arrives from the North Pole to rescuse one family.
This book is quite appropriately dedicated by the author “to frazzled parents everywhere.”

 
Everyone was exhausted; the children were whining; the house was a mess…but help was on the way! In her delightful retelling of the classic poem, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, beloved children’s author, Ann Whitford Paul, gives Mrs. Saint Nick a starring role and the recognition that she deserves. With colorful illustrations by Nancy Hayashi, it’s the perfect holiday gift for children and hassled parents, too! 

If this scene feels familiar then ‘Twas the Late Night of Christmas is sure to make you giggle. Mom is so relieved to have an extra set of hands to help, and the speedy and efficient Mrs. Saint Nick does a fine job cleaning and setting things straight.  My family and I enjoyed this book, it was quite a unique point of view of Christmas, and has a cheerful ending that will make you smile. 

 About the author-  Ann Whitford Paul is crazy for Christmas. Each December she decks her house with handmade decorations—patchwork quilts, ribbon and needlepoint pillows, tablecloths, Santa toys and pictures of snowmen, angels, and gingerbread men. Putting everything out is a joy, but after the holiday is over, she’d love Mrs. Saint Nick to come pack it away so she can return to writing.  About the Illustrator-  Nancy Hayashi sometimes longs for the snowy winters of her hometown in Ohio. A favorite Christmas memory is rescuing her kitten from the top of the tree, where it was hanging on to the angel. The angel’s wings were never the same after that. Now she lives in Los Angeles and illustrates picture books.

    This sounds like it would even be a good read for the day after Christmas (thats probably when I could read it). I would like to win this to read after the mess is all cleaned up to lift my spirits after the holiday rush is over. I think my son would enjoy it too.

    what a great looking book, this looks like our house when the kids were little, now our kids are going through the exact same thing, we are hosting christmas this year so all four kids ,their spouses & 13 grandkids will be here, sounds like the perfect book to have. thanks, what a cute giveaway. happy holidays

    My Granddaughter's daycare wanted the parents to bring in books so they would have something new to read for the kids. My Daughter gathered up some and showed them to Aubs, she broke out crying and said not my Christmas Book Mommy, that's the only Christmas book I have. I would love to win this for her she loves books and this would be another Christmas book. Thanks for the chance.
