Sending a College Care Package? Say More & Include Hershey’s KISSES Deluxe {Giveaway}

My daughter is away for college for the first time this year, so while I’m forever grateful for the technology that helps us stay in touch, there’s a tangible element that’s missing. When she comes home for the holidays we’ll keep up with our holiday traditions of decorating, baking, Christmas shopping, Netflix binging, gift wrapping, and simply spending quality time together. 

But until then, a good way to say more than just hello over text or FaceTime is to actually send her a care package of her favorite things and a little comfort from home. I’ve come to realize just receiving a package from home speaks volumes to let your kiddo know you miss them. This time, I wanted to say even more how much we miss her and how we know she misses us too. I’ve filled her box with a few of her favorite things- Hershey’s KISSES Deluxe Chocolates, a warm, soft blanket from her room here, a cute stuffed animal that matches her dorm, and a few other fun goodies to make her day.

I don’t know what it is about chocolate that speaks right to a person’s heart, but I’ll admit that I was tempted to open that pretty golden box of Hershey’s KISSES Deluxe and sneak a few. I sustained (this time), but the creamy chocolate center surrounding a whole roasted hazelnut, finished with delicate crisps and smooth milk chocolate was calling my name. Did I mention that these KISSES are TWICE the size of the originals?


I’ll tell you what, if anyone in my family wants to say “I love you Mom” to me, they can just give me a box of those. That would be a deliciously thoughtful way to show me some affection, and the fact that she’s receiving her box whole and intact, with none of them missing, I think my daughter will know I’m missing her & thinking of first her too, because she knows how much of a chocolate lover I am.
