We have a great Farmers Market downtown every Saturday. You have to get there early though before they sell out.
Well, that happened to me this past weekend. I knew that after church on Sunday, I wanted to serve a rotisserie chicken with a fresh salad and fruit.
No luck. We got there about two hours before closing and they were sold out.
While I love supporting my very local farmers, I knew that Publix also supports the Fresh From Florida farms as well, so that’s where I went to find everything I needed for our healthy meal.

I can always count on my local Publix to have the best selection around.
I mean, check out the vibrance of the bell peppers and tomatoes!

Are you planning to make corned beef and cabbage for St. Patrick’s Day?
Now is the perfect time to pick out your Florida cabbage.

Most of the produce will even have the Fresh From Florida labels, making them easy to identify.

Another benefit to eating in-season produce is you can really save some money!
My kids love strawberries, and at these prices, we stock up.

My son recently brought home a worksheet from school teaching them how to “eat the rainbow” at their meals. This means that eating a variety of colors is a great way to make sure that you get as many vitamins and minerals, and eat in the most healthy way possible.
And thanks to my productive shopping trip at Publix and my amazing Florida farmers, our Sunday salad was most definitely a colorful experience!
