It’s the time of year for Elf on the Shelf to make an appearance.

Day.
This is my 8th year doing this with my kiddos. But, Christmas traditions and all, our elf Ringo Bells still hides.
Every.
Day.
I’m all about easy but fun ideas.
That being said, our elf has also admittedly done some crazy stunts over the years.
Like the time he took off in a Star Wars ship, and another when he tightroped across our living room. Once he got stuck in the gecko’s tank, and once he got stuck inside a Pokeball.
He’s dressed as Batman, and ridden on the back of dinosaurs.
I think though, sometimes my best & definitely easiest ideas have come at midnight when realized I forgot to move the dang elf.

Hiding behind the sugar cookie milk (what even is that??) and caramel. Ingredients for champions, I tell ya.

Toilet paper towers make good hiding spots for the elf!
I heard elves love chocolate! This is proof.
I think the real question here is how many Funko Pops are too many?
Boxes of any kind make great hiding places. Plus, they’re great for those late night “oops I forgot to move the elf” moments
Another easy one is in a big ole pile of laundry.
Little drawers or shelves also make good places to move to.
The teenager got a good scare one morning before school with the old shower curtain hiding trick.
Any clear jar is an obvious but sometimes hard one to find the Elf in.
Got a stack of towels? Done!
