30 Days About Me- My Favorite Book, Quote, and Most Treasured Item

August 7, 2011 by Molly

Linking with A Daily Dose of Toni for the August project 30 Days About Me.

To be able to keep up as well as simplify for myself, I’ve decided not to post every single day, and to only post once or twice a week, combining a few of the daily assignments.

Day Four:
My Favorite Book
This was a hard one, because I read so many fantastic books. Then, it came to me.
Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers
This book is a retelling of the biblical love story of Hosea and Gomer, set in the time of the California gold rush. It is real, raw, heartbreaking, and beautiful. I couldn’t put it down the first time I read it. It will captivate you. I highly recommend this book to anyone, whether you’re new in your Christian walk or not, or if you don’t consider yourself a believer at all. The story of Christs love permeates throughout it, and your heart will be softened after reading it.

Day Five:
My Favorite Quote
This one was easy.
My favorite quote is Ephesians 3:20-21 “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.  Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen” NLT

Here is one more of my favorites that’s said to be a quote by Pablo Picaso

Day Six:
My Most Treasured Item
This is also an easy one for me.
I can’t say that I have an actual treasured item, although if I had to pick one inanimate object I’d pick the pearls my son found for me. You can read that whole story HERE.
However, this may seem a little obvious, but my most favorite “item” in my entire life is my family. My husband and my kids. My extended family too, of course. They’re all precious to me. My mom told me when I had my first baby that you can’t take anything here on Earth with you to heaven except your children. Isnt’ that the truth. My family is for certain my most treasured item!

I am gonna have to pick up that book. I love to read. Love your quotes and I would have picked my family too, I threw that in my post, but picked my wedding ring if it was talking about an actual material possession. Headed to read the pearl story.
