My Thoughts:

I have read Bringing Up Boys by Dr. Dobson, and was anxious to get my hands on a book he’s written about raising girls. Bringing Up Girls definitely hit the mark as far as I’m concerned. Dr. Dobson has never been one to skirt issues or sugar coat anything. As a Christian mom, I appreciate his stance. Bringing Up Girls addresses issues that are relevant to our girls today, to this generation and in the technology driven society we live in. He speaks on the differences in girls and boys, filled with many truths that people today tend to overlook. This book is backed by solid statistics, many of them disturbing, to be honest, which makes me all the more aware that my daughter and the girls in our lives need to be loved and protected. 

Although my daughter is already a teen, my job raising her is far from over. I realize I can’t go back and change her childhood but I can still help keep her on the right track towards her adult years. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends and family, whether they’re just beginning their journey of raising a daughter or have one almost grown. This was an excellent and educational read!
