My Thoughts:
An unsolved mystery and hidden secrets that intertwine, murder and betrayal, a handsome privateer captain and a beautiful lady in distress, and of course love and faith. This historical fiction novel has it all! Prize of My Heart was a delightful read. Each character played an intricate roll, and their lives connected in ways they didn’t even realize. I love that the characters battled with their faith, being pulled one way then the next, only to find that in the end it was the cord that bound them all together.
While staying true to the storyline, there were a few plot twists that I never saw coming, which I truly enjoyed. While I enjoy detail, there were times that it was a bit overwhelming, especially the description of meals. While reading, I could feel the passion of the time period that the author carries, it was very well researched, documented, and portrayed in Prize of My Heart.
Once I finished this book, I passed it on to my teen daughter, and she loved it as well. If you’re looking for a wonderful, clean love story, with a hint of suspense and drama, I definitely recommend Prize of My Heart.

historic village with homes and churches dating as far back as the
eighteenth century. Currently she works as a legal assistant in the
corporate department of a Rhode Island law firm.
