Easy Custom Keychain Using NEW Podgeable Acrylic Shapes from Mod Podge

Who doesn’t love a little custom piece of art, right? 
We have a dear friend who lives far away, and the kids and I decided to put together a little package for her, just to say hi and let her know we are thinking about her. 
Recently, Plaid sent me a huge box of Mod Podge goodies to try out!

 Plaid has just introduced some exciting new Mod Podge products onto the market, which can all be found at Michaels. 

After looking through the box, I just knew that using the new podgeables and glitter dimensional paint, as well as a few other goodies, would be a perfect and easy way to make a special custom key chain for my friend. A little reminder that she’s important to us.

To make the key chain, here are the Mod Podge products I used. 
  • Mod Podge Matte
  • MP Dimensional Magic Glitter Gold
  • MP Podgeable Shapes
  • MP Silicone Craft Mat
  • MP Squeege
  • MP Rub-On Transfers
  • MP Podgeable Papers
First, I picked the podgeable I wanted. I chose the key shape, but there are many to choose from.
I traced the podgable onto the paper, and cut it out.

Next, I picked a few of the Rub-On’s that suited my purpose, and rubbed them right onto the podgeable paper.

Now for the real fun! I used my Mod Podge Matte formula and applied it to the podgeable shape. If you know much about Mod Podge (even if you don’t) plastics have notoriously been tricky to try to use, but these podgeable shapes are awesome! The paper adhered right to it. I used it on the under side of the key so you could see the words through it, but you can use either side. 
I used my squeege to remove any excess Mod Podge, and let it dry.
Once the project was dry, I chose a few butterflies designs I liked in the paper stack and cut them out to use as embellishments onto the key. I used the Matte Mod Podge, and just applied them where I liked them.
When they were dry, I used my Glitter Dimensional Magic Glitter and applied it right on top of the butterfly design. This stuff is amazing! The writer-tip bottle made it very easy to use, and I love the raised epoxy-like finish, with a bit of glitter.

I took a key ring off an extra set I had laying around the house, and voilà!
The end result is just lovely, exactly what I wanted it to be!

The new podgeable shapes can be used in so many ways. Collage art on canvas, mixed media, jewelry, and more!
