In Too Deep by Mary Connealy – The Kincaid Brides Book 2

July 14, 2012 by Molly

The Kincaid brothers are back!

About this book:

Ethan Kincaid proposes marriage with the same casual detachment he gives every decision. He never expected his bride to affect him—or anger him!—so much.

Audra Gilliland accepts Ethan’s proposal so she can stop being a burden to her newly married stepdaughter. She absolutely does not need a man to care for her.

It was supposed to be a marriage of convenience. But now, heaven help them, are they in too deep . . . or are they deeply in love?

My Thoughts:

You may remember how much I enjoyed the first book in the Kincaid bride series, Out of Control.

Well, I can honestly say that I enjoyed In Too Deep just as much! I was happy to meet back up with these memorable and quirky characters again, to see where life has brought them.  This book begins just where the last left off. When the never serious Ethan Kincaid and the sweet but strong Audra Gilliland are somewhat coerced into a marriage of convenience and necessity by Ethan’s brother Rafe, neither are sure they’re ready. For sure neither feel they’re ready to fall in love. But with Rafe and Julia now being married, Audra has nowhere else to turn.
While the plot and outcome were a bit predictable, there were several minor plots that were unexpected, which I enjoyed very much, and I believe will carry over into the third book in this series. True to her form and style, Mary Connealy has written another “romantic comedy about cowboys” that held my attention from beginning to end. If you want a book you can laugh and cry with, and characters you can walk with through the trials of life in the 1800’s Colorado, while watching their faith grow, then this is a must read for you!
