About this book:

Not since his sister went to get her Mark five years ago . . . and never came back.

My seventh grader Ben actually read this in about three days, so I asked him to give a brief summary of his thoughts on Swipe:
Swipe is an exhilarating book that was exciting to read. It has a great twist at the end, which I didn’t see coming. I do wish that it described in more detail what The Mark was and why they have to have it. Even without those details, Swipe was still a great book to read. I was SO into this book.
My Thoughts:
Swipe is the first in a new series by Evan Angler. Swipe takes place in a dystopian society (think, Hunger Games for the setting but not the storyline). Without taking The Mark (representing the mark discussed in the Bible, Revelation 13:16-18) at age 13, children aren’t able to be a member of society. It’s specifically geared towards teens, so it wasn’t completely my favorite style of book, but I did personally enjoy the futuristic setting, and the action filled runs. While the book may be targeted to kids younger than middle school age, I wouldn’t recommend it younger than 12.
