My husband and I have always tried to teach our kids that they are unique and each have a special gift and calling from the Lord. We’ve given them many opportunities to serve and learn, everything from helping around the house, to community service, to taking them on missions trips internationally. When I read this book, I was so impressed with the way it compliments our parenting ideals, but puts it in terms relevant to teens and young people today. My twelve year old son has read it, and my fifteen year old is reading it now. They have enjoyed the writing style Austin Gutwein uses, my son said he liked how it was simple, and easy to understand. Beyond that, however, my kids have been inspired by the message in Live to Give. They’ve come to me at separate times and asked how I felt they could put their talents to good use for Jesus. My daughter has showed interest in trying to make a difference in her school by standing for God by being a part of a Christian organization there.
The message in Live to Give is timeless and relevant to today’s youth. I highly recommend any parent, youth leader, and especially young person to read it and ask God what they can do to make an impact on their world today.
