Great Bake Sale Recipe- S’Mores Bars- AND The No Kid Hungry Campaign

April 18, 2013 by Molly

It’s bake sale season around here. My kids are raising funds for summer camp and school field trips. This S’Mores Bars recipe, from Karo Syrup, is a serious bake sale winner, the perfect go-to recipe, and they taste exactly like s’mores cooked over a campfire.

Over the past few years, I’ve found that I truly enjoy baking from scratch, and this recipe called for an ingredient I’ve never actually used before, Karo Syrup. To be honest, I was a little intimidated by it, but after using it, I realized it’s a very easy ingredient.

Step One- Combine your crackers and cereal in a large mixing bowl and set aside. The kids can help crush the crackers, mine enjoyed this.

Step Two- Cook syrup and brown sugar on the stove top.

Step Three- Pour syrup mixture into cracker mixture, and press down into your baking dish.

Step Four- Place chocolate bars on top of crackers, then add marshmallows.

Step Five- Bake at 400˚ for 5-8 minutes until marshmallows are puffy and lightly browned.

Step Six- Place in fridge for an hour so the chocolate has time to set. Then, enjoy!
