Days Until Christmas Frame {Easy and Pretty Last Minute DIY}

Can you believe how close Christmas is? If you’re like me, you have about 50% of your shopping done and no idea what to get the other 50% on your list. Well, time’s almost up folks. And in case you need even more of a reminder, I’ve got a great, easy, Christmas home decor idea for you to make.
I put my Days Until Christmas countdown frame together in less than an hour this past weekend, and if you have the supplies you need (which you just might) then you can to.
Otherwise, you’ll have to spend a few dollars at your local craft store, but the results look like a million bucks.
I was in Joan’s Fabrics just before Thanksgiving this year and snapped a pic of this countdown frame I actually wanted to purchase, just not that day, because to be honest I have a hard time doing Christmas anything before Thanksgiving. Just me.

This past weekend, I returned to buy the frame, and naturally it was already gone. Sold out.
So what’s a girl to do? Well, considering I was in a craft store, I purchased what I needed to make my own instead.
Mentally, I checked off what I already had at home that I could use, which was basically just a pretty silver frame I bought at a yard sale for $3. The rest I purchased, which totaled under $10.

Supplies:
Pretty frame
Pretty Christmas scrapbook paper
Embelishments
A small decorative wooden chalkboard (or a piece of wood you can paint with chalkboard paint)
Scissors
Glue

Now for the easy part, putting it together.

First, cut the scrapbook paper to size, using the glass or the insert from the frame as a guide.

I couldn’t find a sticker that I liked that said anything close to “Days Until Christmas” so I just made my own on PicMonkey. If you like it just click and save, you can use it also. To make it into a sticker, I printed it onto a white shipping label and cut it out.

Next, it’s time to embellish. I glued a little wooden knob to the top to hang my chalkboard from. I also added a little decorative painting to it with a paint pen, and included a reindeer sticker as a final touch. This is where your own creative will shine through. I don’t expect yours to look just like mine (I mean, you can if you want to:) but make it your own style.
