I love walking through antique shops and specialty boutiques this time of year, it’s like being in a real life Pinterest board. Everything is Christmas, handcrafted, vintage, antique, and uniquely displayed. One of my favorite local antique shops, Alyssa’s Antique Depot, recently opened a second location called Alyssa’s Etc. and it’s full of a variety of antiques and hand crafted goodies.
The Christmas inspiration is endless. I enjoy seeing first hand pretty ways to display my own Christmas items, as well as take the opportunity to make a few purchases to enhance my collections and decor.

Have you ever noticed how wonderful these types of shops smell? I mean, I’d buy a candle that smelled like the inside of an antique shop. Call me weird I guess.
I actually did purchase a candle at Alyssa’s Etc. the day we went. Vanilla scented, thank you very much.
I wanted to get this rocking moose for my baby nephew, but I realized he’s probably a good year out from being able to use it, so instead, I left it behind for another little one to enjoy.

I have a few of these wooden Coke crates and can never quite make them look right, or as pretty as these vendors were able to.
I especially liked the white pitcher and greenery in this one. Now that I’ve seen it in person, I feel like I could recreate this look with my own items.

White and tinsel trees were definitely a popular theme throughout the store. Even the yellowed white trees looked amazing when they were in the midst of their hand crafted, farmhouse displays.

Handcrafted salvage wood pieces were also popular.
I’m considering heading back to the store and adding this little round snowman to my collection.

These Grinch gourds were especially unique and clever!
I think they’d make a great conversation piece used in a whimsical Christmas setting.

I recently passed up some old windows at a garage sale, now I’m wishing I’d have bought them. These Christmas windows are adorable.

This season, I encourage you to think outside the box, find a local antique shop or boutique, and treasure hunt until you find just the right gift for a friend or loved one.
You’ll find so much inspiration for your own Christmas home, you’ll definitely feel like singing “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” by the time you’re finished shopping!

Sounds like a great shop i really love all their decorations.
