We eat a lot of salads in the Summer. Well, year round really, but there’s just something extra yummy about cool, fresh salads during the warm weather. I like to pair our salads with a burger, baked potatoes, grilled chicken, or kabobs.
One of our family favorite toppings is candied almond slices. They’re so, so easy and add just the right amount of crunchy sweetness.

Begin stirring as soon as it begins melting, making sure to coat the almonds evenly.

Once the almonds all have an even coat and the sugar is melted, remove from the skillet and allow to cool on a plate or wax paper.

When they’re entirely cooled, they’ll easily break apart with your fingers, and they’re ready to be added to the top of your salad.
