My August To-Do Goals {Mission of the Month}

August 6, 2012 by Molly

I.
Can’t.
Believe.
It’s.
August.
Seriously, can it be already?  My kids go back to school in about three weeks!
Here I am again already with a brand new list of goals for the month, and again I’m linking up over at Mama Jen’s Mission of the Month.

I’m going to jump right in with a recap of July:
Personal
  • Get at least 7 hours of sleep most nights Yes! Feeling good about it too!
  • Eat more healthy, cut back on junk food Working on it actually, tracking my calories over at My Fitness Pal (great site for watching and tracking what you eat)
  • Read my Bible more consistently Always a work in progress, but definitely more consistent
  • Schedule hair appointment Ugh, no, still gotta do it. Moving it to my August list

Family

  • Be consistent with kids chores For the most part. They’ve all got something they’re trying to save money for, so this has been to my benefit when it comes to chore time
  • Read out loud with the kids Actually, no. Sadly, we haven’t done this much this month. Shame on me. I’m putting it on August though.
  • Date night with Dave Ahh, another big no. He was in Africa for most of the month, soooo…
  • Do at least two activities from our Summer Bucket List Oh yeah! We’ve done so many of these! You can read about the play dough we made here.
  • Finalize August vacation plans Yes, yes, check! Traveling a lot in August!

Projects/Home

  • Finish dresser Remember this post on the Drab to Fab makeover? Done!
  • Fix Lego table Nope
  • Fix chair Yes, Bam! Comic Book chair makeover done!
  • Find two new recipes and try them Made Bayou Brownies I found on Pinterest (doesn’t count towards my healthy eating goal) and made Spinach Lasagna Rolls from Skinny Taste (does count towards my healthy eating goal)
  • Fix at least two freezer meals FIVE of them, yes!!
  • Find a roofer for our leaky ceiling (ugh) Ummmmm…… uhhhh…….
So, as you can see, I did better in some areas, and not as good in others. I guess that’s how it goes sometimes.
