My July To-Do Goals {Mission of the Month}

July 3, 2012 by Molly

Mission of the Month

I know, I know, you may be asking “Why should I care about your to-do list when I have my own that’s a million miles long?”
Well actually,
it’s not so much about my list, but it’s about trying to help and
inspire you to create, write, and see yourself accomplish goals, even if
it’s just a few at a time. It’s about seeing where I have fallen short,
and realizing that no one is really Super Mom (only, don’t
tell my six year old that, because I’ve got him convinced that’s my
super hero alias).

So, that’s that.

That’s why I share mine, to encourage you to make yours. Make them big or small, whatever works for you!
I’m joining Mama Jenn on her Mission of the Month project again, and you can too! Just post your to-do list on your blog, and head over to her blog and link up. She has a great free printable checklist to help you along the way.

Before I jump into July, let’s recap June and see how well it went, shall we? (I’m taking off my Super Mom mask for this)

If you remember, I made a smallish list of my goals for June because we were supposed to be taking a family trip at the end of the month. However, due to some unforeseen circumstances we had to postpone that trip till a later date. But that’s okay, it’s life.
Anyway, here’s my June list with updates:
Personal:
  • Get at least 7 hours of sleep most nights Done! Not always 11-6, sometimes it was more like 3-10, so does that count?
  • Eat more healthy, cut back on the junk food Eh, gonna have to keep trying and add it to July
  • Read my Bible more consistently A little better, not as consistent as I’d like
  • Make appointment for eye exam Yes, done! I’ve joined the glasses club
Family:
  • Assign chores and be consistent having the kids do them Ummm, still need to do this
  • Find a book to read out loud with the kids We’re reading How to Train Your Dragon
  • At least two date nights with Dave Dinner and a nice walk downtown
  • Plan Summer activities Made our Summer 2012 Bucket List (read about it here)
Projects/Home:
  • makeover dresser Halfway finished
  • finish pantry door Yes! Chalkboard paint! (read about it here)
  • fix Lego table nope, not yet
  • find two new healthy recipes and try them I found two great recipes, not sure how healthy, but definitely a hit with the whole family! Crock pot chicken and Dumplings from I’m a Lazy Mom and Cowboy Casserole from MomSpark

I really need to do this. There is always something that I think I should do and always forget about it!

I have tried making lists, but I become so overly-obsessed with the organization of everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, that I start to freak out over my lists not being organized. Yeah. I run into issues when I'm trying to be organized and make lists to make sure I get everything accomplished. And then I still don't get anything accomplished. I do really love chalkboard paint. I have been wanting to paint a portion of the wall in my stepdaughter's room with it. Maybe a project for the fall when they don't just come here and immediately make a beeline to the swimming pool.
